The project was inspired by Jenn's journey. In 2011, she became the first woman to win the award for best Tambor Alegre performer at the International Bagpipe Festival in Sucre, Colombia. Traditionally, the Tambor Alegre, also known as tambor hembra, was off-limits to women, who typically sang or danced rather than played percussion. Despite societal barriers, Jenn pursued her passion, receiving clandestine drum lessons since the age of ten. These experiences fueled her determination to become a percussionist, shaping her career path.
