Annie Clark made her debut in 2007 with "Marry Me." Her subsequent albums gained stature and complexity, garnered critical acclaim, and her commercial Success surpassed that of their predecessor, including "Actor" (2009), "Strange Mercy" (2011) and the self-titled fourth album, which won the GRAMMY for Best Alternative Album in 2014, making St. Vincent became only the second female artist ever to win in this category

In addition to these solo works, St. Vincent also performs with others: Her collaborations include an album with David Byrne ("Love This Giant," 2012), a performance as vocalist and lead guitarist of Nirvana at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction (2014) and a duet with Dua Lipa at the the 2019 GRAMMY Awards
